God’s will: Why? or What?

Job answered God: “I’m convinced: You can do anything and everything.
Nothing and no one can upset your plans.
You asked, ‘Who is this muddying the water,
ignorantly confusing the issue, second-guessing my purposes?’
I admit it. I was the one. I babbled on about things far beyond me,
made small talk about wonders way over my head.
You told me, ‘Listen, and let me do the talking.
Let me ask the questions. You give the answers.’

Job 42:1-4 (MSG)

That kicked my butt today. Seriously. (Yes, I went against The Message verse numbering system… sue me!)

I realized that I don’t need to understand why God’s will is the way it is. I just need to listen and DO His will! Stop trying to figure everything out! He’s got a plan, and it’s perfect. Be less concerned with the WHY and focus on the WHAT! Stop asking “God, why is that your will?” and ask “God, what is your will?”

I need to stop asking all the questions and let God question ME sometimes. (and hope He’s gracious to me in asking!)
